Speedvale Avenue East to Eramosa Road

Map shows area for 2017 construction work on Metcalfe between Speedvale Avenue East and Terry BoulevardAging infrastructure under the Metcalfe Street roadway needs to be replaced. The City’s construction plans include the replacement of sanitary and storm sewer pipes, water main, curb and gutter work, and final repaving.

The current lane configurations, and parking and no parking zones will be the same after construction.

Two phases of construction in 2017 and 2019

In 2017, Metcalfe will be closed for underground water and sewer pipe replacements from Speedvale Avenue East to Terry Boulevard with limited local access. Construction of this section is expected to start in May 2017 and be completed by the end of November 2017.

Construction on Metcalfe from Terry Boulevard to Eramosa Road is planned for 2019.
