Each year your Guelph Professional Firefighters are involved in a variety of fundraising initiatives for the betterment of our community. We fundraise approximately 6 times each year, an NHL Alumni game, a 50s 60’s dance, our Calendar and Fashion show, a Charity Golf Tournament, our MD Boot toll drive and our Haunted House. We usually raise upwards of $50,000. We donate those funds in cash and kind to our local Muscular Dystrophy Fund and to our local Hospitals.
In the past 10 years our initiatives have purchased over $400,000. of “wish list” items for the Guelph General, St. Joseph’s and Fergus Groves Memorial Hospitals. We are currently fulfilling a $100,000 commitment to the new MRI machine at the Guelph General. Much of our success can be traced back to the overwhelming support we receive from our local businesses.
Our Haunted House draws in excess of 2,500 people! We have face painting, coffee and hot chocolate and a barbeque to prepare our guests for the “trip” through the Haunted House. Sometimes our little guests need that “comfort food” (a candy or other kind of treat) to help keep the experience a fun and memorable one. We hope to see you!
