The City of Guelph is in receipt of a site plan approval application from the GSP Group Inc. for the property known as 1750 Gordon Street (See location map). What you need to knowA Zoning By-law amendment and Official Plan amendment were approved by City Council and subsequently approved by the Ontario Municipal Board in August 2006 to change the zoning to a specialized Community Shopping Centre Zone that would permit the development of a mixed use commercial development. The applicant has submitted a site plan for a food store with approximately 13,424 square metres of gross floor area and three other retail buildings with approximately 2,350 square metres of gross floor area (See reduced site plan). About this notificationAs part of the approval of the zoning amendment, City Council instructed the Director of Community Design and Development Services to develop a process for public input on the site plan application. This notification is in keeping with Council’s direction. This notification is intended to inform City residents of the site plan approval application and to allow residents the opportunity to view the plans and make comments, if necessary, for the consideration of the Director prior to granting site plan approval. In this case, final approval will be the responsibility of Guelph City Council. Viewing the plansThe plans are now available for viewing in Community Design and Development Services at 2 Wyndham Street North, Third Floor during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
