Pet waste disposal

DogCat litter and pet waste are accepted as Wet waste and must be placed loose in see-through green bags for curbside collection.

If you collect your dog feces in a plastic bag such as a grocery bag, you must empty the feces into your Wet bag loosely, and then place the empty bag in your clear Waste bag.

If you cannot empty the pet waste out of the bag you collected it with, the bag and the feces must then be placed in the clear Waste bag together. This is because plastic bags are not allowed in the see-through green Wet bag.

Cat litter should be placed in the green see-through Wet bag. As is the case with dog feces, cat litter and waste must remain loose within the Wet bag.

If you have a large quantity of pet waste to dispose of, and it fills a bag of its own (as might be the case with a backyard clean-up), you must place the green see-through bag full of pet waste within another green see-through bag. Double-bagging helps prevent bags from tearing open at the curb or during collection.

In all circumstances, pet wastes must be drained of liquid before disposal.
