• Bags or containers not out on time; they must be at the curb by 7 a.m. on your collection day.  Items must be placed loosely inside transparent, coloured bags as follows:

Wet (green bag) for organics
Dry (blue bag) for recycling
Waste (clear bag) for landfill

• Clear bags are collected biweekly; click here to get a copy of your collection schedule.
• Bags or containers are too heavy. Bags or containers have weight limits; 20 kg (44 lbs) for Dry and Waste and 15 kg (33 lbs) for Wet.
• Containers are too big. Containers must not exceed 100 litres; and it must be between 24 to 30 inches high, and a maximum of 22.5 inches in any other direction.
• Containers are not clearly marked

Sorting your waste

• Bags or containers are too far from the curb; place bags and containers within one foot of the curb
• Bags or containers are hidden behind parked vehicle
• Bags or containers placed on top of a snowbank; place bags and containers at ground level at the end of your driveway and within one foot of the curb

• Bulky items (furniture or appliances)
• Household hazardous waste (batteries, paint, oil)
• Construction/demolition waste (drywall, wood, bricks)
