Heritage Guelph (formerly the Guelph Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee, or LACAC) was formed in 1977. Since then, the role of Heritage Guelph has evolved from primarily the designation of heritage properties to encompass a much broader role related to heritage matters. During the same time the City of Guelph has recognized the vital role of heritage in the life and dynamic of the City.
