City’s Executive Team shared new reporting tools with Guelph’s business community

Key Facts:

Guelph, Ont., September 22, 2017– At an event hosted by the Guelph Chamber of Commerce yesterday morning, the City’s Executive Team launched a new performance reporting dashboard and the beginning of a community planning exercise for Guelph.

“The City’s new performance dashboard provides accessible, straightforward indicators of how we’re doing across seven broad categories,” said Chief Administrative Officer, Derrick Thomson. “The dashboard is still in its initial beta stage, and we invite our citizens and business leaders to let us know how it could be improved and what data they would like to see included.”

“The Guelph Chamber of Commerce and the City of Guelph engage actively on ways in which we can collaborate on activities that will advance our community, hearing directly from the City Executive on ways in which they are implementing cutting edge business practices to enhance bench-marking capability, decision making and service delivery, further demonstrates how Guelph continues to set the national standard for community prosperity,” says Kithio Mwanzia, President & CEO, Guelph Chamber of Commerce.

The City also announced it will create a new Community Plan for Guelph with broad engagement across multiple sectors. “The Plan will set clear long-term goals for our city from an economic, environmental, cultural and social perspective,” stated Thomson. “There will be many opportunities to be a part of this work online and in person. When it’s done, the Community Plan will be a road map towards a shared future for everyone.”

A video released yesterday about the Community Plan features community leaders and explains the importance of the Plan, and calls for the community to get involved over the next year.

The City also shared a new video to demonstrate the many ways City services have an impact on Guelph citizens at every stage of life.
