Downtown parking improvement projects

A number of projects happening in downtown Guelph over the next couple of years will affect available parking. These projects will improve existing parking facilities, and add more spaces. See below for more information about specific projects.

West Parkade repairs

This two-year project will be broken into two phases:

  • Phase 1: Floors 5 and 6 will be closed for extensive repairs beginning in July 2017 and ending in November or December 2017. This will result in the temporary loss of about 200 parking spaces.
  • Phase 2: Floors 2 through 4 will be closed beginning about April 2018 and ending December 2018.

These closures are required due to the extent of the work to be undertaken. The City is working closely with the contractor to find opportunities to shorten the construction schedule.

Wilson Street parkade

A new parking facility will be built by the City at the site of the Wilson Street parking lot. The tentative construction start is late 2017 or early 2018. The new parkade will provide about 300 new parking spaces.
