Cleaning up Guelph on Earth Day

Free, celebration barbecue begins at noon in Riverside Park

Guelph, Ont., April 21, 2017 – On Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, more than 1,100 participants will help make Guelph a little greener during the City’s 14th annual Guelph Clean and Green Community Cleanup.

Participants will spend three hours on Saturday morning ‘spring cleaning’ their neighbourhood by picking up litter along Guelph’s streets, green spaces, and in community parks. Last year, more than 900 people picked up more than 5,350 kilograms of litter.

The cleanup ends with a free, celebration barbecue lunch for all participants in Riverside Park. Mayor Cam Guthrie will say a few words to thank participants and sponsors for helping to keep Guelph clean.
