About the project
The City is reconstructing Wyndham Street South from York Road to the bridge that runs over the Speed River just south of Wellington Street East. Work will include the installation of sanitary sewers, storm sewer, water main, curb and gutter, sidewalks, bike lanes and on–street parking. Final road design will provide one lane for vehicular traffic in each direction and on–road bicycle lanes as recommended by the Cycling Master Plan.
As part of the project planning, the City of Guelph completed a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) study in 2013-14 and the project proceeded to detailed design and construction.
Third phase of construction
This is the third phase of construction of the Arthur Street Sanitary Trunk Sewer. To allow for the installation of underground water and sewer pipes, the following roads will be closed with limited local access:
- Neeve Street from Wellington Street to Howitt Street
- Cross Street
Construction is expected to start in late June 2017 and be completed by the end of the year. All construction notices, including timing updates and traffic changes, will be posted in the Latest updates section of the project page.
