Gordon Street utility work, northbound lane reduction

Edinburgh Road South to Arkell Road

With the permission of the City, a third party contractor is undertaking private infrastructure work on behalf of Coletara Development to reconfigure utility infrastructure in the boulevard.

Work is being completed by Robert B Somerville Inc.

Work begins March 13

Work is expected to begin on or about March 13 and continue for approximately two weeks.

Northbound lane reduction, bike lane interruption

Map shows area of east sidewalk and northbound lane closure on Gordon Street between Arkell Road and Edinburgh Road SouthThere will be a lane reduction in the north-bound direction of Gordon Street to facilitate utility work and to protect workers. The north-bound bicycle lane will be inaccessible through the work area due to the lane reduction.

East side pedestrian sidewalk closed

The pedestrian sidewalk on the east side of Gordon Street will be inaccessible throughout the utility work. Pedestrians are asked to use the sidewalk on the west side of Gordon Street by crossing at the traffic lights at Arkell Road and Edinburgh Road South.

Local businesses open and accessible

All businesses in and around the construction area remain open and accessible throughout utility work.

No impacts to Guelph Transit

No Guelph Transit routes are affected by the work.

City services

There will be no interruption to any City services during construction. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.
