Notice of work: City monitoring well installation along Royal Recreational Trail

Beginning on or around September 12, engineering consultants and contractors hired by the City of Guelph will be completing the monitoring well installation located between 295 Water Street (Village on the Green) and the Royal Recreational Trail.

The City will use this and other monitoring wells in the area for ongoing monitoring of groundwater quality as part of the City’s strategy for Source Water Protection.

Work will be conducted Monday to Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. over a period of two weeks. Contractors will return to take samples from monitoring wells on a periodic basis.

Disruption to the site is not expected. The City is working with the consultants and contractors to further improve the trail conditions in the area.

Access to the Royal Recreational Trail at the north end of the property may be periodically affected. For safety reasons, please stay clear of the work area. Alternative access to the Royal Recreational Trail is from the trail at the east of the property.
