This new construction will more than double the square footage of Halwell Mutual Insurance Company’s existing location at 812 Woolwich Street in order to accommodate the future growth of its workforce.
“We are very excited to be moving our headquarters into the Hanlon Creek Business Park. It has given us the opportunity to create a healthy, modern work space for our team, and flexibility to expand our operations,” says Marg Torrance, President and CEO, Halwell Mutual Insurance Company. “We love that there is environmentally protected areas around us, and walking trails right outside our door.”
“Hallwell’s roots in our community go back 155 years, and we’re thrilled that they’ve decided to stay in Guelph and grow in Guelph,” says Mayor Guthrie.
All partners and contractors for Halwell’s new head office have been sourced within the region, which includes the design by Robertson Simmons Architects of Waterloo, and construction by Melloul-Blamey of Kitchener-Waterloo. It is expected to be complete by March 2017.
The Hanlon Creek Business Park is a prime location for business in Guelph’s south end. Phase one is now 50 per cent sold and phase two is fully graded, serviced and ready for development.
