Guelph, Ont., April 3, 2016 – The City of Guelph, the Guelph Public Library and CUPE locals 241, 973 and 1946 have reached tentative collective agreements for Guelph’s outside, inside and library employees.
“We’re pleased to reach these agreements without any disruption to City programs and services,” said David Godwaldt, Guelph’s general manager of human resources. “We want to thank the unions for working together to negotiate affordable settlements that protect taxpayers’ interests and provide fair, equitable and competitive compensation to employees.”
Details of the settlements will not be released until the unions, the Guelph Public Library Board and Guelph City Council vote to ratify the tentative agreements. The City began negotiations with its CUPE unions earlier this year.
The unions and the Guelph Public Library Board will hold ratification votes in the coming week, after which City Council will hold a final ratification vote.
