Culture Days 2015 registration is open to applicants

Guelph, ON, April 21, 2015 – The City of Guelph invites individuals, groups, and organizations to register their arts and cultural activities for Culture Days 2015—a national celebration taking place locally from September 25 to 27.

The scope of Culture Days activities in Guelph is virtually limitless and is inclusive of all disciplines including visual arts, music, dance, theatre, architecture, heritage, film, video, literature, culinary arts, and new media.

“Any cultural activity, whether community-based, amateur, professional or educational, may be registered provided the activity is free to the public and is participatory or interactive in nature. Local businesses are also invited to take part,” says Jen Rafter, cultural program and event coordinator at the City.

Launched in 2010, Culture Days encourages citizens across Canada to celebrate and explore the arts and culture within their own communities. The national Culture Days website provides tips, tools and training opportunities for those who register and all events will be promoted in national and regional campaigns. Locally, the City and Guelph Arts Council work together to connect our community to the Culture Days resources, and promote the registered events.

For more information or to register an event or activity, visit the Culture Days website culturedays.ca. Interested individuals or groups are encouraged to contact Jen Rafter, cultural program and event coordinator for the City of Guelph, prior to registration to coordinate events. Registration will remain open until September 18.
