‘Agents of change’ support Guelph Public Library

Over 190 library lovers – or better known as undercover secret agents of change – helped to write another chapter in the mission for a new main library headquarters in Guelph! The Guelph Public Library’s third annual Evening for Book Lovers: The Spy Who Loves Reading fundraiser held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Hanlon Convention Centre was a huge success – generating over $16,000 at this novel affair. Hosted by Magic 106.1 FM radio personality Lisa Richards, the espionage themed evening was proudly sponsored by Meridian Credit Union and featured entertainment by Viva Las Vegas and Flashpoint productions.

This library fundraiser presented a wonderful array of auction items – a result of overwhelming support from the community. Guests had the opportunity to bid on top items such as original art pieces, trips to Las Vegas and Montreal, theatre and sporting event tickets – plus so much more. Overall it was a classy, five-star casino “royale” night filled with top secret literary fun!

All event proceeds directly support the Guelph Public Library’s $10 million campaign commitment for a new main library. A sincere thank you to everyone who attended and sponsored this “Evening for Book Lovers” fundraising event. Your generous donations and support ensure the library will continue to provide lifelong learning opportunities and remain a vital resource in our community.
