There are many service advisories in place this Labour Day weekend that may affect your trip on the bus. Please note that there may be other service advisories that are currently in effect, but are not listed here. Please visit our transit advisories page for a complete list.
August 29 – September 28
Safe Semester project. As a result of the road closures associated with Safe Semester project, Guelph Transit routes servicing Guelph Central Station will be detoured on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m., from August 29 to September 28.
Route 5A Gordon. August 29 is the last day for service along Victoria Road South on Route 5A Gordon. Service to this area will be provided on Route 56 Victoria Express starting on September 2.
University Centre detour. All buses that travel to and from the University Centre will be on detour from 5:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. on August 30. The stops at the University Centre and surrounding area will be closed. Temporary stops will be located on Stone Road, near the entrances to the Athletic Club and 1 Stone Road.
Late night service. Late night service is starting early this year! If you are going out on Saturday night, plan your safe way home on the bus. Late night service routes are also new, with improved service to the south-end. View the new map online at guelphtransit.ca. This service is paid for by the undergraduate and graduate student associations at the University of Guelph.
Labour Day holiday hours. Guelph Transit conventional and mobility buses will provide service from 9:15 a.m. until 6:45 p.m. The administration office will be closed.
Express bus service. Welcome back University of Guelph Students! Express bus service starts on Tuesday, September 2. Remember that buses are busiest in the morning – please consider taking an earlier bus to make sure that you get to your class on time!
Route 56 Victoria Express service advisory. Route 56 Victoria Express will be on detour until the construction on Stone Road East is complete. As a result, service on this route will be provided every 30 minutes. The detour service schedule for this route is available on guelphtransit.ca.
Peak service returns to Gordon Street. The regular Route 5 Gordon service schedule will return on September 2, with all day peak and off-peak service provided along Gordon Street.
Guelph Transit makes every effort to ensure that service times are maintained when buses are detoured, however unavoidable delays may result in late buses or missed transfers.
