Centre lane markings on Downey Road
The City is preparing to paint the centre lane on Downey Road between Woodland Glen Drive and Teal Drive. Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed between June 26 and 28.
Bike lanes postponed
The City’s mission is to plan, design and build safe and efficient transportation systems so people can walk, bike, drive and enjoy travelling in, out and around the city.
In response to concerns from residents who believe removing on-street parking to install bike lanes on Downey Road could lead to more traffic and speeding, Guelph City Council will discuss plans for the road during a meeting on July 28, 2014 at 7 p.m.
Anyone wishing to address Council during the meeting regarding plans for Downey Road must register by 9 a.m. on Friday, July 25. Written comments are also welcome at the email or mailing address below:

Trucks, speeding, pedestrian crossings and parking
City staff believe we can work together to find ways to ensure Downey Road is a safe enjoyable route for people on foot, on bikes and in cars. City staff and Guelph Police Service are reviewing input from area residents and considering ways to address speeding, truck traffic, pedestrian crossings and parking on Downey Road.
Your continued input is welcome, and the City will notify area residents of any proposed changes.
