Residents urged to avoid Silvercreek Park while fire crews battle nearby house fire

Guelph, On, May 13, 2014 – The Guelph Fire Department is asking residents to avoid using Silvercreek Park while they continue to extinguish a fire at 25 Manor Park Crescent.

“The smoke from the fire is blowing north—across Silvercreek Park near the volleyball courts. Smoke can be irritating to some individuals and due to the prevailing wind and humidity some of the smoke is staying low before rising into the air,” says Shawn Armstrong, general manager and fire chief of Emergency Services.

Fire crews from five fire stations remain on scene. There are no injuries to occupants of the building or fire crews.
