Round two of public consultations start today
Guelph, ON, April 3, 2014 – The City is seeking public feedback once again as part of the overnight on-street parking review.
City staff are reviewing Guelph’s current overnight on-street parking restrictions. As part of this review, staff are examining options that may potentially maintain, add to, change or eliminate the existing overnight on-street parking by-law.
“We are inviting members of the public to attend the public consultation session on April 16 to learn about the results of the February 26 session, and to examine the implications of the proposed overnight on-street parking alternatives,” explained Allister McILveen, manager of Traffic and Parking. “The community will have an opportunity to provide input on the preliminary recommended alternative for overnight on-street parking in Guelph.”
The public consultation session will be held on Wednesday, April 16 from 6-8 p.m. at City Hall.
Those unable to attend the consultation session are invited to provide comments online starting today through April 30, 2014 on guelph.ca/parking.
The current overnight on-street parking by-law restricts parking on city streets from 2-6 a.m. during the winter season from November 1 to April 30. However, a number of streets, generally located in older areas of the city are exempted from this restriction.
Staff plan to bring recommendations regarding overnight on-street parking to the Operations, Transit and Emergency Services Committee of Council in July 2014.
