2013 Development Charges Study and By-law Staff Report

2013-14 Development Charge (DC) Update

To ensure Guelph’s updated DC rates reflect the population forecasted in Ontario’s Places to Grow Act—43,000 new residents and 32,000 new jobs by the year 2031—the City conducted a background study including a peer review by two individuals selected by the development community with expertise in growth and demographic forecasting, and engineering. The City is also gathering input from the business community and the general public before setting the new DC rates.

The following report regarding updated development charges will be presented to City Council during a public meeting on November 18. To address City Council at the meeting please contact the City Clerk’s Office at 519-837-5603 or email clerks@guelph.ca by 9 a.m. on Friday, November 15.

Written comments are also welcome at clerks@guelph.ca or can be addressed to City Clerk, City of Guelph, 1 Carden Street, Guelph, ON N1H 3A1.
