Pedestrian taken to hospital with minor injuries

Guelph, ON, October 3, 2013 – At approximately 6:45 p.m. yesterday evening, a Guelph Transit bus struck a pedestrian on Macdonell Street near the Guelph Central Station bus terminal.

The pedestrian was taken to Guelph General Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. The pedestrian was released from the hospital that same evening.

The collision occurred when the bus entered Macdonell Street from the south side and initiated a left turn to travel westbound. The pedestrian was attempting to cross Macdonell Street from south to north when he was struck by the left side of the bus.

“Guelph Transit is working with Guelph Police Service to investigate the collision,” said Phil Meagher, interim general manager of Guelph Transit.
