City kicks off $55,000 United Way fundraising campaign

Community events include garage sale and pancake breakfast

Guelph, On, September 19, 2013 – Last week, the City of Guelph launched its annual fundraising campaign in support of the United Way.

Over the next few weeks, City employees hope to raise $55,000 through various internal and external fundraising events.

“City of Guelph employees understand that when we reach out a helping hand to one, we influence the condition of all,” says Mayor Farbridge, this year’s campaign chair. “Together, we are making a difference in the lives of people in Guelph, Wellington and Dufferin counties.”

Residents wishing to support the City’s campaign can attend a garage sale at the West End Community Centre between now and Sunday, September 22 during regular business hours, or join Guelph firefighters for a pancake breakfast on Saturday, September 28 from 8 to 11 a.m. at department headquarters, 50 Wyndham St., South.
