GUELPH, ON, March 4, 2013 – Mayor Karen Farbridge is now accepting nominations of Guelph residents for the 2013 Mayor’s Awards. A nomination package is available at guelph.ca/mayorsawards or by contacting the Mayor’s Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 519-837-5643.
The annual award recognizes residents who are making a difference through service to the community. Previous winners have made contributions in many different facets of community life, including the arts and culture sector, the environment, health and mental health, labour, multiculturalism, and sports and recreation, among others.
Completed nomination packages can be e-mailed to email@example.com or mailed to Mayor Karen Farbridge, 1 Carden Street, Guelph, Ontario N1H 3A1. Nominations must include contact information for both the nominator and the candidate.
“There are many outstanding residents making a difference in our community who tend to go about their work without being recognized’” said Mayor Karen Farbridge. “I am always thrilled to honour such Guelphites and I look forward to reading this year’s nominations.”
The Mayor’s Awards will be presented at the Guelph Awards of Excellence gala, where Guelph’s leading businesses and citizens are recognized. Winners will receive a special framed print created by a Guelph artist. This year’s awards dinner will be held on June 27.
