Guelph Fire Department’s Voluntary Home Inspection program to begin Sunday

GUELPH, ON, Friday, June 22 – The Guelph Fire Department will start its Voluntary Home Inspection program this Sunday, June 24.

For the second year in a row, the Guelph Fire Department will target different areas of the city to help raise fire safety awareness among Guelph residents. Fire crews will go door-to-door to provide safety information and conduct home inspections upon request.

“The first year of this program was very well received by residents, so we have decided to do it for another year,” said John Osborne, Deputy Fire Chief. “Last year, we visited 500 homes and, this year, we will try to visit over 700 homes.”

Sunday July 29 Willow Road & Westwood Road (townhomes), Wimbledon Road
Sunday August 12 Doyle Drive, Munroe Crescent, Gosling Gardens Street
Sunday August 19 Brant Avenue, Montana Road, Algoma Drive, Muskoka Drive

Target areas for the Voluntary Home Inspection program are randomly selected.
