Guelph Transit operator taken to hospital

No passengers or pedestrians hurt in accident

GUELPH, ON, May 30, 2012 – A Guelph Transit bus operator was taken to Guelph General Hospital this afternoon for examination following an unfortunate accident at Guelph Central Station.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., the bus operator had stepped out of a bus and was temporarily pinned against a pole when the bus unexpectedly moved forward.

Emergency Services personnel promptly arrived on the scene and the Ontario Ministry of Labour was immediately contacted to investigate this workplace accident.

 

No passengers or pedestrians were hurt and Guelph Transit bus service was not affected.

“We wish the injured operator a speedy recovery,” said Michael Anders, general manager of Guelph Transit.
